One of the many services we offer here at Coastal Contract Hardware is rekeying, in which we adjust your locks to use a different key than they were originally paired with. Our rekey service provides the same security benefits as replacing your locks altogether, without the need to install new hardware. In this article, we will go over a few examples of situations where it will be beneficial to use our rekey service.
- Moving In – If you are moving into a new commercial building, we encourage you to schedule rekey service as soon as possible. There is no way to know who has a copy of the old keys to the building, so we encourage you to rekey your locks to ensure those old keys will no longer work. That way, you have complete control over who can access your building.
- Following a Break-In – You should also use our rekey service immediately after an attempted (or successful) break-in of your commercial space. Adjusting your locks to work with a different key will greatly increase your security and help restore your peace of mind after such a harrowing experience.
- When Streamlining Maintenance – A third occasion where it is beneficial to use our rekey services is when streamlining your maintenance efforts. Our rekeying experts can program all the locks in your facility to work with a single master key, which makes it much easier for custodians and maintenance workers to access every part of the building when the need arises. If you want to make your maintenance services more efficient, we encourage you to program your locks with a master key.
