People need locksmiths for a variety of purposes. Experienced locksmiths do more than simply unlock doors when customers have lost their keys or locked themselves out, and so on. In fact, there are numerous other duties they perform. In general, however, there are three major types of services that experienced locksmiths provide: commercial, residential and emergency.
Services Provided by Experienced Locksmiths
In order to provide commercial services, experienced locksmiths must have a vast knowledge about the different types of locks available in the market. Serving commercial venues, for example, means dealing with clients such as schools, offices, government buildings and others. Their security systems can naturally be expected to be a lot more complicated than those commonly used in residential jobs. Therefore, their locksmith must be able to work with whatever locking system the venue may have or require.
Residential locksmith services usually include changing locks and deadbolts, and helping people get into their homes when they’ve locked themselves out and don’t have any spare keys set out anywhere. Other services they perform include evaluating current locks to see if there are any malfunctions taking place; helping customers change or install locks on cabinets, drawers, and other storage units within the home; and duplicating keys so you have backup sets in the event you need them.
Emergency services are usually available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Examples of emergency services are when you lose your keys and need to get inside your home right away or when you end up locking your keys inside the trunk of your vehicle, and so on. Emergency services tend to cost more than residential or commercial ones, and the fees can vary greatly depending upon the time of day the services are needed as well as the complexity of the job.
